Create a one-of-a-kind ceramic birdhouse from start to finish in this two-part handbuilding pottery class with Elizabeth Van Antwerp!
In the first class, Elizabeth will guide you through the process of handbuilding your own birdhouse from clay using slab construction and other essential clay techniques. You’ll learn proper construction, scoring and slipping, and ways to add your own creative details and personality to your piece.
Then we’ll give those birdhouses time to slowly dry and be bisque fired before meeting again two weeks later.
During the second class, you’ll bring your birdhouse to life with glazes, color, and finishing details. After glazing, we’ll fire your piece one final time, and it will be ready for pickup once firing is complete.
No experience necessary. This is a fun, beginner-friendly class and a great way to try handbuilding while creating something you can actually enjoy at home.
